  • Argyle Township Court House And Gaol

    The courthouse in Tusket is the oldest standing courthouse in Canada and a National Historic Site.

    It was built in 1805 and restored in 1982. Guided tours are available of the cell block, jail keeper's quarters, courtroom, grand jury room and judges' chambers.

    The Argyle Township Courthouse Archives next door was the first municipal archives in Nova Scotia.

    Its function is the collection, appraisal, arrangement, description and preservation of the records of the District of Argyle. Open year-round
