The Shearwater Aviation Museum
The museum is at Shearwater Airport, 34 Bonaventure Ave., Eastern Passage and uses artifacts to trace the history of Canadian Maritime military aviation from 1918.
There are more than a dozen aircraft in the collection and over 6,000 artifacts.
The museum started in 1978 but was expanded in 2001 so the entire collection of aircraft could be brought under cover.
Visitors can experience what it's like to fly an aircraft by strapping into a flight simulator. There's a 50-seat theatre, archives and reference library and gift shop.
