Nova Scotia Tourism Region : Northumberland Shore
Description From Owner:
- Saline springs bubbling up from the foot of Mount Thom inspired the name. In 1813 and 1823, attempts were made to recover some of this salt.
- The lower part of Eight Mile Brook was settled around 1785 by William McKay and Archibald Gray, members of a Highland regiment. The place became known as Salt Springs Lot.
