  • Almost equidistant from Annapolis and Kentville and nicknamed the 'Heart of the valley.' Settlers were here by 1773 and early names for the place were Wilmot Corner and Fowlers Corner.
  • In 1854 a public vote changed the name to Middleton, reflecting its position in the middle of Wilmot Township and between Annapolis and Kentville.

    The museum is at 21 School St. in Middleton in what was the first consolidated school in Canada in 1903.

    The collection includes the NS Museum display of clocks and watches, a natural history display, recreated classroom, general store of the period and an art gallery. Gift shop.
