Nova Scotia Tourism Region : Yarmouth and Acadian Shores
Description From Owner:
- The Aboriginal name was Utkubok, 'spring water.' New England settlers in the 1760s called the place Upper Chebogue.
- The name changed in 1863 to Arcadia, the classical name for a land of peace and contentment, but in this case, the name of a brig built here that year by Bartlett Gardner.
