Description From Owner:
- First named Kwanaskwegacheeh, driftwood, and later Mutton Cove. Later named to honour Henry Herbert, 10th Earl of Pembroke (1734-94).
- In 1785 a grant of 3,000 acres was made to Winckworth Tonge and his children. Settlement was largely carried out by Loyalists from the Thirteen Colonies in the US.
