Nova Scotia Tourism Region : Eastern Shore
Description From Owner:
- Dedication Lake: Students from Musquodoboit Rural High School visited this area in 1972 as part of a class project. The lake in question resulted from damming Sherlock Brook.
- After their trip the students requested the Canadian Permanent Committee on Geographic Names (CPCGN) to name the lake 'Dedication Lake as we are dedicated to our valley and to protecting its future by finding solutions to its problems.'
- The committee approved the name the following year.
- Hutchison Settlement: Named for early settlers. The land was part of Fisher's prant given in 1786.
