This community in the Municipality of Argyle recalls the resilience of the Acadians, who returned in droves to Nova Scotia following their expulsion in 1755.
Nearby Pubnico was one area where Acadian land had not been confiscated so Acadian settlements along that shore flourished. Named for settler Jacques Amirault.
