Nova Scotia Tourism Region : Eastern Shore
Description From Owner:
- The Aboriginal people had several names for this place: Kwemoodech, 'little loon place and Kwemoodeech, 'small harbour.'
- Before 1827 the place was called Deane Harbour, included in a land grant made to Lt. Samuel Harris in 1773. The current name honours an early pioneer family.
