Nova Scotia Tourism Region : Eastern Shore
Description From Owner:
- The First Nations peoples' name for this place was Kobelawakwemoode, which translated as 'beaver harbour.'
- Legend relates that one of the large rocks in the harbour was thrown by Glooscap at the mystical beaver. Glooscap was the wise and powerful figure of many First peoples' legends. In 1773 surveyor Charles Morris was granted 5,000 acres of land here.
