  • Upper Margaree: Angus and Archie MacFarlane were the first settlers in 1822.
  • Egypt Falls: Local legend has it that when farmer Ira Hart divided his property among his five sons, four of them received adjacent lands. The fifth had to travel some distance to his land and was said to have gone “down to Egypt' for his inheritance.
