Nova Scotia Tourism Region : Cape Breton Island
Description From Owner:
- Homeville: The name honours Stetson Holmes, first settler in the area after whom the place was first called Holmville.
- Tradition has it that when excavating the footings for a new bridge, builders uncovered a burial ground containing the remains of people of large stature believed to have been Vikings.
- False Bay Beach: A low strip of sand which prevents communication between Cow Bay and Mira Bay and by creating the appearance of an entrance, deceives mariners approaching from the sea.
