Nova Scotia Tourism Region : Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley
Description From Owner:
- First named Kesooskiboogwek, 'flowing through hemlocks.'
- It is uncertain whether the place is named after an old doctor named Philip who practiced here, or Philip Pedoristack, an Aboriginal who is said to have killed 500 moose in one season. The place was settled in the late 1700s.
- The first school was built in 1816. Sittings of the Supreme Court were held here from 1816-30.
