Nova Scotia Tourism Region : Cape Breton Island
Description From Owner:
- The passage separates Isle Madame from Cape Breton Island. The name recalls Charles Lennox, 3rd Duke of Richmond and Lennox (1735-1806).
- He was secretary of state in the British cabinet. His nephew, the 4th Duke, served briefly as governor-general of Canada, 1818-19. Joseph Boudrot and Polycarpe LeBlanc had Crown leases here by 1809. See also Richmond County.
