Description From Owner:
- Louisburg Road: In 1802 James Young from Kilkenny, Ireland, sought and received a land grant for Nicholas Farm about 6 km from Louisbourg on the road to Sydney.
- Louisburg West: In the 1600s it was known as Havre a l'Anglois, 'Englishmen's Harbour,' because it was frequented by English fishermen.
- In 1713 the French renamed it Port St. Louis after their king and later renamed it Louisbourg. In the same year the French ship Semslack landed 116 men, 10 women and 23 children to start permanent settlement.
