  • In Shelburne County at the head of Ragged Islands Harbour on Hwy. 3, 29 km E of Shelburne.
  • First Nations peoples called the place Medawumkek for ‘the water flows turbulently. The name recalls the Allen family, which in 1784 received a 12,780 acre grant.
