Nova Scotia Tourism Region : South Shore
Description From Owner:
- So named because the settlement was near a point at the mouth of the Mersey River which was named for the Mersey River at Liverpool, England.
- The area included Black Point, a small tongue of land jutting into the bay, and Mount Pleasant, a black settlement started when Loyalists settled here.
- Mersey Point was an offshoot of the Liverpool Settlement. The area was settled in the 1700s.
