Description From Owner:
- First named Kegannagwetck and the site of an important 1521 Portuguese settlement. In 1726, with the sole exception of Louisburg, this was the most important place in Cape Breton.
- It had many names: Port of Orleans, Ningasnis, Inganis, Ingan-iche and Ninganiche, but the meaning of any of the names has been lost.
- This is the home of Keltic Lodge, built in 1905 by Akron, OH, industrialist Henry Clay Corson, who hoped the clean air and magnificent scenery would improve his wife's health.
- The lodge now is a 104-room hotel owned by the province. The 18-hole golf course was built in 1904.
