Nova Scotia Tourism Region : Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley
Description From Owner:
- First called Indian Point or Oak Point. Land was granted here in 1761 to Benjamin Newcomb. The name later changed because the place was a 'port' in Kings County.
- This was also an important shipbuilding centre. One of the port's triumphs was the four-masted barque, Kings County, built in 1890 and one of only two such vessels ever built in Canada.
