213 COMMERCIAL ST |
Nova Scotia Tourism Region : Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley
Description From Owner:
- Named to honour Rev. William Sommerville, a Congregationalist minister whose headquarters were here about 1840.
- Due to the minister's modesty, the name Sommerville was changed to Somerset, the name of a place in England. Matthew Fisher was likely the earliest settler, around 1810.
- With permission from 'Nova Scotia Place Names' David E. Scott 2015
